Hello everybody, after reading the article, I have a good understanding what biased, unbiased and consistence means (with respect to rendering algorithms). But I can't understand the reason for the use of the word "bias" therefore. I'm not a native speaker, English is an foreign language for me. Why is the word "bias" used in this context?

The original meaning of bias is 'oblique'; thus a biased opinion is one that leans to one side, and a biased algorithm may be one whose errors tend to go one way rather than the other. —Tamfang 20:25, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
